Nobel Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai Reveals She Got Married

The Twitter feed of Malala Yousafzai flooded with expressions and congratulations of best wishes for their marriage life.

Yousafzai had not disclosed the identity of her husband apart from his first name. People on the internet identified him by the name Asser Malik who is a general manager at the high-performance center of Pakistan’s Cricket Board.

A human rights campaigner of age 24 from Pakistani announced her new life update on Twitter and shared the ceremony’s pictures.

“Today marks a precious day in my life,” wrote on Yousafzai’s Twitter. The social activist Malala also shared her excitement about the “walk together” along with her husband on a journey ahead.

She said “Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead.”

Priyanka Chopra Jonas, an international star sent wishes to the couple with “joy and happiness”. Actress took this on her Story on Instagram and re-shared Yousafzai’s wedding picture with her husband. She added, “Congratulations @malala Wishing you so much joy and happiness. You are an absolute vision!!”

The human rights campaigner from Pakistani was only 15 years old when the Taliban shot her for daring to go to school. They shot her when she was returning home from school in 2012, in Pakistan’s Swat Valley.

Taliban targeted Malala Yousafzai because of her relentless objections to the regressive interpretation of groups about Islam that limits all Pakistani girls to access education.

This 24-year-old Yousafzai traveled to Birmingham’s English city for medical treatment, where her family joined her eventually. She went to school back as soon as she can but continued campaigning for the right to an education. Yousafzai completed her graduation from Oxford University, in 2020.

According to Reuters, this year in July, Malala Yousafzai had told British Vogue magazine that she did not understand the reason behind people needing to sign marriage papers when they wanted a person in their life. This comment drew a lot of criticism from Pakistan.

She quoted, “I still don’t understand why people have to get married. If you want to have a person in your life, why do you have to sign marriage papers, why can’t it just be a partnership?”

Malala Yousafzai is the youngest Nobel laureate at times when she shared the Peace Prize in 2014 with Kailash Satyarthi of right activists from India for their work on behalf education rights of children.
